Experiencing the ecstasy of joy is an extraordinary blessing. This is when a Christian recognizes that he has ascended to the mountain top of life. Filled with joy such a person is on top of the world looking down at valleys below. Light engulfs his being and he is enlightened by the glory of his overview. A few saints that have attained such a state were known for their humility. At times they have also experienced great despair. Now they are holy, heavenly endowed lights and are honored through by the Heavenly Physician of Souls that have guided them mysteriously to this point. Having an everlasting soul is assured and they will be in a state of eternity. This is the great secret of a happy life that is the first grammar lesson Christians are taught.

It is said in the De Dignitate et Augmentis Scientiarum, Antitheta no. 9 (1623) translated by Gilbert Watts 1640, “The voice of the people hath some diviness in it, else how should so many men agree to be on one mind?” Such a mindset is what a Christian will accomplish in an ecstatic state. There will be hills and valleys but rest assured there will be ecstatic joy - the highest form of delight.

Joy of Freshness

There are some that will want to do anything possible to accomplish this kind of joy. At best it is sacrificial as demonstrated by our greatest teacher Jesus Christ. A few saints have suffered martyrdom and greatly honored in their life. They are assured of wearing heavenly Crowns of Martyrdom. These have embraced life's hardships in most precious ways. Through their actions that are bathed in divine light, souls were healed and brought to light. The beauty of love during such sacrifices are most apparent. Throughout the ages such sacrificial love has formed a noteworthy bridge to all Christians. That is why in Churches we hear priests and deacons preach about these great deeds. With compassionate living we are called to embraced hardships and sacrifices following the Lord example on the Cross.

Living life in the footsteps of Jesus and the saints are most delightful thing that Christians can do. It is the best for us to be true preachers by the life we live and display to the world. For it must be remembered that a Christian's goal is to transform lives. There is supreme joy in heaven when one lost soul is converted and set on the right path of life. In the eyes of a Christian community this is the joy and dignity of discovering a new lifestyle.

A credo engraved in Rockefeller Center Plaza, New York reveals, “The rendering of useful service is the common duty of mankind, and … only the purifying fire of sacrifice is the dress of selfishness consumed and the greatness of the human soul set free.” What an inspiration this is for yearning souls waiting to be set free to being all they can be.

Mother of Joy

Ecstasy is the Mother of Joy. It brings true gladness to the heart, mind and soul, radiating light that touches all men that are seeking divine goodness by being light, speech, love and soul of the Church. In its path there is always an abiding truth that has endowed our spirit for living to the fullest. At best it is the epitome for truth by loving our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. This notion propels us to embrace the everlasting way.

In a 1609 Sonnet 33, William Shakespeare (1564 – 1616) England's greatest playwright, poet and actor wrote:

Full many a glorious morning have I seen
Flatter the mountain tops with sovereign eye,
Kissing with golden face the meadows green.

In these beautiful lines Shakespeare has surely captured the absolute mountain-top joy of nature. It is truly superb, full of light, refreshing the soul that sparks the Christian mission to take care of the wonderful blessings of our earthly paradise. This great love expresses itself for the protection of the environment that God has so magnificently created. The power of love is genuine and with depth of caring we are caretakers of nature's bounty. It is joy that has to be nurtured and shown in the deepest possible way how we live and relate to nature.

We can find encouragement in the Word written in the Good Book of Life. Within its pages we are able to taste the excellent possibilities that are ours in God's creation. There we can look forward to the greatest blessing of all – everlasting life, where we will be living in all splendor to the fullest extent for eternity.
